Assailant of Salman Rushdi has denied any connection with Iran.
Assailant of Salman Rushdie, the renegade author of Satanic Verses , denied any connection with Iran in court.
The assailant “Salman Rushdi”, an apostate author who insulted the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), denied any connection with Iran to carry out this attack.
Hadi Matar, a resident of Fairview, New Jersey, stabbed Salman Rushdie with a knife last week in West New York. Some reports indicate that he hit this renegade writer between 10 and 15 times.
Matar said in this interview, which was conducted from the prison of Shotakwa region, in response to the unproven reports that claim that Salman Rushdie is alive: “I was surprised when I heard that he is alive.”
Salman Rushdie was attacked at 11 a.m. last Friday (local time) on August 12, 2022, when he was about to give a speech at the Shotaqua Center in West New York.
After the publication of Mohan’s novel “Evil Verses” in 1367 AH, Salman Rushdie had provoked the anger of Muslims. For this reason, he had turned to a secret life with strict security conditions. After the publication of this book, Imam Khomeini (RA) issued a fatwa on his apostasy.
In response to the question whether he attacked Salman Rushdie based on Imam Khomeini’s fatwa or not, he said: “I respect Ayatollah [Khomeini]. We think he is a great person. That’s all I can say about it.”
The “New York Post” newspaper, written by Hadi Matar, denied his connection with Iran and implied that he carried out this attack completely alone.
In another part of this interview, he stated that after he saw a tweet announcing Salman Rushdie’s speech in Chattanooga in the winter, he decided to go there and attack him.
Hadi Matar said: “I don’t like this person. I think he is not a good person. I don’t like him. I don’t like him very much. He is the one who attacked Islam and their [Muslim] beliefs and belief system.”
About the way he attacked, Hadi Matar told Salman Rushdie that one day before the attack, he came from New Jersey to Buffalo by bus and went to Chataqua from there.
“I was wandering around,” he said. I didn’t do anything special and I just walked.” Hadi Matar said that he slept on the grass on Thursday night. He added: “I was outside all that time.”
Hadi Matar said that he saw Salman Rushdie’s videos on YouTube. “I saw many speeches,” he said. I don’t like people who are so two-faced.”
