Assad: The withdrawal of Turkish troops is Syria’s condition for the normalization of relations with Ankara.
The President of Syria, who hosted the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while congratulating Tehran on joining the BRICS group, emphasized the inevitable withdrawal of Turkish troops from the country’s territory.

Bashar Assad’s office informed that in this meeting, the parties discussed bilateral relations, the situation in the region, measures related to the return of Syrian refugees, and the withdrawal of Turkish forces from Syrian territory. The Syrian president emphasized that the withdrawal of Turkish troops is an inevitable condition for Damascus to return to normal relations with Ankara.
He described the healthy relations between Iran and the Arab countries as the reason for the stability and prosperity of the region and congratulated the government and people of Iran on joining the BRICS group.
