It was after the start of the war that the two countries’ views on the war in Yemen began to change; Therefore, the UAE tried to take control of the coasts of Yemen and Socotri Island, supported the organization known as the Southern Transitional Council, and in early 2020, it claimed to stop participating in this war. However, Saudi Arabia considered these actions unilateral and stated that such actions will harm the goals of the war in Yemen.
