Arab League: Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and UAE did not attend the meeting.
According to the website of Russia Today, diplomatic sources reported that the foreign ministers of Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia will not participate in the meeting of the Arab League that will be held in Tripoli, the capital of Libya.
The foreign ministers of the Arab League are planning to hold a consultative meeting today to review the latest developments in the Arab world.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the so-called National Unity Government of Libya issued a statement in this regard and announced: “Sameh Shoukry”, the Egyptian Foreign Minister, will not participate in the consultative meeting of the foreign ministers of the Arab League.
Also, an Emirati diplomatic source announced: “Abdullah bin Zayed, the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates, and “Faisal bin Farhan, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, will not participate in the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Arab League this Sunday.
It should be noted that before this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Libyan government elected by the parliament of this country had opposed the holding of a consultative meeting of the foreign ministers of the Arab League by the National Unity Government of Libya.
The officials of the Libyan government elected by the parliament of this country emphasized their legal right to represent the Libyan people and asked the foreign ministers of the Arab League to respect this right. Therefore, the non-participation of foreign ministers of some Arab countries may be related to this issue.
