Arab countries’ reaction to the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
According to Ahed, Abdallah Bouhabib, the foreign minister of the Government of Lebanon, published a Twitter post and emphasized: the agreement signed between Saudi Arabia and Iran on the resumption of diplomatic relations between them and the reopening of their embassies within 2 months will have positive effects on The generalities of regional relations will be laid in the coming period.
He further added: Lebanon has borne the cost of regional disputes during various historical stages, and we hope that this action will be considered a positive step in strengthening the foundations of security and stability in the region, as well as expanding positive cooperation.
Bouhabib added: We want this opportunity to be used to enter into dialogues between Arab countries and Iran based on respect for the sovereignty of countries and non-interference in their internal affairs with the aim of establishing the best relations.
In this regard, Qatar’s Foreign Minister Mohammad bin Abdulrahman consulted with his Saudi and Iranian counterparts, Faisal bin Farhan and Hossein Amir Abdullahian, regarding the aforementioned agreement.
In these phone calls, he emphasized that Qatar welcomes the agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran regarding the resumption of bilateral relations between them.
The Foreign Minister of Qatar continued: We hope that this agreement will be considered as a step towards strengthening the security and stability of the region and a response to the demands of the two nations, which will ultimately benefit all the nations of the region.
On Friday, Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement welcoming the aforementioned agreement and appreciated the efforts of the Chinese authorities to host these negotiations, as well as the efforts of Iraq and Oman to host the previous negotiations in 2021 and 2022.
In this statement, it is stated: Kuwait supports the agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran and hopes that this agreement will eventually lead to the strengthening of regional security and stability and the expansion of friendly relations between the two countries.
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain issued a statement while welcoming the agreement between Tehran and Riyadh and expressed hope that this agreement will be a positive step towards resolving differences and ending regional conflicts based on dialogue and diplomatic methods.
