A member of the Ansarullah movement’s political bureau said that the Yemeni people do not need anyone to recognize their country.
Ali al-Qahoum, a member of the political bureau of the Ansarullah movement, stressed that the Yemeni people do not need anyone to recognize their land.
Al-Qahoum told Al-Mayadin News Network that if “the Americans are serious, they will stop the attacks” in response to the US recognition of Ansar al-Islam as a legal entity in Yemen.
“The US statement is not new, but after [the] support of the [Saudi-Emirati coalition] aggression, it expresses double standards,” he added.
In this regard, Yasser Al-Houri, secretary of the Yemeni Supreme Political Council, said that “Ansarullah and all nationalist groups that stand against aggression are taking their legitimacy from the Yemeni people.”
The US envoy to Yemen, Tim Landerking, said on Thursday that the United States recognized the Ansar al-Islam movement as a legitimate party in Yemen and as a group that had made progress.
Abdul Wahab al-Mahbashi, a member of the political bureau of the Yemeni Ansarullah movement, also said that the US envoy to Yemen’s acknowledgment of Ansarullah’s legitimacy was an implicit acknowledgment that the United States was behind the war against Yemen.
He stressed: “The achievements on the ground forced the United States to recognize Ansarullah as a legal party in Yemen.”
