Announcing Hezbollah’s readiness to increase its field presence in Syria
Sheikh Naeem Qasim, the deputy secretary general of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, addressed various issues this evening (Wednesday) in an interview with the Syrian network Al-Akhbariya.
Hezbollah’s deputy secretary general first commented on US actions, saying “all US efforts to build a ‘new Middle East’ have failed.”
Sheikh Naeem Qasim further referred to the recent battle between Palestinian resistance groups and the Zionist regime and said: “Operation ‘Sword of Quds’ was one of the titles of the Palestinian victory.”
“The whole strategy of invading Syria – as [the enemies] expected – did not lead to the fall of this country,” the Hezbollah official added.
“Victories in Yemen come one after another,” he added, referring to developments in Yemen. The new reality in the future is the axis of resistance in which it will play a major role and power. The United States has not given up its expansionist and aggressive policies; But its power components have been weakened. US aggression has failed many times; “But the war against Syria is not over yet.”
Sheikh Naeem Qasim also stated that “the attack on the Al-Tanf base (southeastern Syria) was a field issue related to the groups present.”
Hezbollah’s deputy secretary general added: “It is possible that Syria will see more political openness. Relations between Hezbollah and Syria are excellent. Our relations with Syria have been bathed in blood, sacrifices, resistance, liberation, dignity and pride. Relations between Hezbollah and Syria have never seen such a level. Many of our fighters have returned to Lebanon, and the number that remains is related to the Syrian field reality; “If the reality on the ground in Syria requires a greater or lesser presence, this will happen.”
The Hezbollah official added: “Some Lebanese do not want relations with Syria in line with US, Israeli and allied orders. “Others are conservative for fear of a US response, and when it came to energy imports to Lebanon via Syria, cowards had no problem with the US position.”
