Amnesty International: America should be ashamed of granting immunity to Bin Salman.
Amnesty International emphasized that the granting of immunity by the United States to the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, who was involved in the murder of a journalist critical of Riyadh in Istanbul, is a shame and disgrace.
This Saturday afternoon, Amnesty International strongly criticized the performance of the US government in not prosecuting Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the case of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
The US government recently claimed that Bin Salman has immunity that prevents him from being prosecuted in the lawsuits related to Khashoggi’s murder.
According to Al-Nashrah news website, Amnesty International also criticized the appointment of bin Salman as the head of the Saudi Council of Ministers, which was done by order of the king of this country, and said that this issue has become a concern for human rights activists.
The cause of concern of human rights activists is that the appointment of Bin Salman as the head of the Council of Ministers will make him immune in foreign courts.
Agnes Callamar, Secretary General of Amnesty International, also said in this regard: The American government should feel ashamed. This is nothing more than a betrayal that is hateful.
Kalamar emphasized: First, Donald Trump’s government ignored the involvement of the Saudi Crown Prince in the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. Then Joe Biden’s backtracking [on this matter], all point to questionable deals that have been made in the long run.
He also stated that it is ridiculous that the Saudi government is trying to extend Bin Salman’s immunity by announcing him as the head of the Council of Ministers of this country.
The US Department of Justice announced that the Saudi crown prince is immune from the accusations of Khashoggi’s murder.
