American weapon companies making billions of dollars.
As gun violence has increased in America, small arms companies have collected more than $1 billion in revenue over the past decade.
The results of the research that the US House of Representatives is going to present to the Congress on Wednesday show that the arms manufacturing industry in the US has made huge profits through the sale of guns to citizens.
This profit has been achieved at the cost of anxiety and insecurity for a large number of American citizens who occasionally become victims of blind shootings in public places.
The “Oversight and Reforms Committee” of the House of Representatives of the United States of America began an investigation into small arms manufacturing companies in May after a deadly shooting in Yuvaldi, Texas, which resulted in the death of 19 elementary school students and 2 teachers.
The trustees of this research asked five arms manufacturing companies to provide them with information about their sales and marketing strategies.
Carolyn Maloney, head of the investigative committee, said in a statement on her website: “The business policies of these arms manufacturers are extremely disturbing, exploitative and dangerous. “These companies use aggressive marketing tactics to target young people—especially young men—and some even use symbols of white supremacy.”
He added: “We came to the conclusion that none of these companies bother to investigate the death and destruction caused by their products.”
The US House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on a gun ban bill for the first time since 1994. This plan, of course, has very little chance of success in the Senate, and therefore, the probability of it becoming law is close to zero.
On Wednesday, the heads of several arms companies are scheduled to attend a hearing with members of the Oversight and Reforms Committee.
