America returned to UNESCO after 5 years.
The Wall Street Journal announced that the United States officially returned to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) after 5 years yesterday.
According to this publication, the US return to UNESCO is mainly due to the concern that China has filled the vacuum of Washington’s presence since the US left the organization, especially in setting standards for artificial intelligence and technology education around the world.
The Biden administration announced its desire to return to UNESCO early last month.
In 1983, former US President Ronald Reagan withdrew the country from UNESCO, however, later in 2002, then US President George Bush re-joined the country in this organization.
The United States and the Zionist regime stopped financial aid to UNESCO after UNESCO members voted for Palestine’s membership in 2011. In 2018, the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, once again removed the country from the UNESCO organization and attributed the reason for his action to the organization’s anti-Zionist bias.
