The US Department of Justice, through a legal advisory vote, has concluded that “Mohammed bin Salman”, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, is immune from the accusations of the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a journalist critical of Riyadh.
According to the report of “Russia Elium” news site, this advisory opinion was announced while the lawsuit against the Saudi Crown Prince and his companions was killed by Khadija Cengiz, the journalist’s fiancee, and the Organization for Democracy in the Arab World was now in progress in the Washington Federal Court. .
The judge of this court had given the American government until midnight on Thursday (November 17) to comment on the request of Bin Salman’s lawyer to grant legal immunity to his client due to his high position; While Washington had the opportunity and could not declare his opinion at all.
American media claim that due to the non-binding nature of this request, the decision to grant immunity was finally made by the judge and the White House agreed with it.
After publishing this news, Khashoggi’s fiancee tweeted: “Today, Jamal died again.” We thought there might be a light for justice in America, but again, money came first. This is a world that Jamal and I didn’t know about…!
Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist, was killed and his body dismembered by forces affiliated with the Riyadh regime in October 2018 while visiting the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. The operation that American intelligence forces initially believed was carried out on the orders of Mohammed bin Salman.
Last month, King Salman, the Saudi king, as part of the restructure of the country’s cabinet, appointed Mohammed bin Salman as the head of the Riyadh Council of Ministers. During this appointment, Mohammed bin Salman’s lawyers told the American court that the new position of the Saudi Crown Prince as the head of the Council of Ministers will give him judicial immunity from prosecution in the case of Jamal Khashoggi’s murder.
