According to the announcement of the US Department of Defense, this 400 million dollar package is provided with the aim of helping Ukraine to defend itself.
The Pentagon announced that the new aid package includes four air defense systems and Stinger missiles.
Previously, “Jake Sullivan”, the national security advisor of the White House, announced on Thursday night the new US military aid to Ukraine, including air defense systems.
Sullivan said the new US military aid package will include Hawk air defense system missiles and Avenger air defense system armed with Stinger missiles.
In response to a question about the withdrawal of Russian military forces from the Kherson region, this White House official said that the United States is seeing signs of Russian movements to withdraw from this region, but does not expect this to happen overnight.
Earlier, the Russian TASS news agency reported that Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu ordered the withdrawal of troops from behind the Dnieper River. The media announced on Wednesday that the Russian forces in the Kherson region in southern Ukraine have decided to leave the region to save the lives of the citizens.
