America: Bahrain is likely to resume diplomatic relations with Iran soon.
The US Assistant Secretary of State for West Asian Affairs has said that Bahrain will probably resume diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran soon.
Barbara Leaf, the US Assistant Secretary of State for West Asian Affairs, claimed yesterday (Tuesday) that Bahrain is likely to resume diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran “soon”.
In a situation where some media have recently raised speculations regarding the negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Bahrain, Leaf has also stated that the relations between Tehran and Manama will be resumed soon.
In this regard, he said: “I think this will happen soon.”
Leaf’s statements were made in the context that yesterday (Tuesday), the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Nasser Kanani, said in his weekly news conference regarding the state of relations between Tehran and Manama: “Bahrain has announced its readiness in this regard and We are interested in developing relations with all Islamic countries and the region.”
At the beginning of April, some well-informed Bahraini sources said that a delegation from Iran’s Foreign Ministry had traveled to Bahrain in the past period, and it was decided that after the visit of Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi to Saudi Arabia, dialogue meetings would be held. And the exchange of visits between Iran and Bahrain will begin.
Earlier, “Nasser Kanani”, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said about the resumption of relations between Iran and Bahrain: “Diplomacy has shown its results well. The resumption of political relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia shows the effectiveness and success of the diplomatic solution to resolve misunderstandings and take a step in a new direction for the development of relations based on common interests.
