Referring to the activities of three lobbies in France against Algeria and the conspiracy against it, Algerian President Abdel Majid Taboun described his country’s position on the Palestinian, Libyan, Western Sahara cases and the normalization of relations with Tel Aviv.
In an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera for the first time, Algerian President Abdel Majid Taboun spoke about the conspiracy that targeted his country and the reason for it, important cases such as Libya, Western Sahara, France, and the normalization of relations with the Zionist regime.
Al Jazeera announced that it will broadcast the details of the conversation soon.
Why Algeria is the target of a conspiracy
“A blessed and noble movement saved Algeria from melting down and, thanks to its peaceful nature, won with the support of security forces and the army,” he said. “Recent marches have an uncertain identity and are not ideologically united in demands or even slogans.”
“13 million Algerians saved their country, blocking the extension of the fourth term of President Abdulaziz Bouteflika and thwarting the efforts of the gang that sought to dominate Algeria,” Teboun added.
“Algeria has been targeted by a conspiracy because it is a country that does not allow conspiracies against the Arab world,” he explained. One gang sought to exploit the former president for illness for another five years. “The group stole hundreds of billions of dollars from the country and smuggled them abroad.”
Bouteflika, who was in poor physical condition after suffering a stroke in 2013, ran for a fifth term in 2019. After weeks of public protests in Algeria, he finally announced that he was withdrawing his candidacy and finally resigned on April 2, 2019.
After heading to the Algerian presidential palace in December 1998 to reform the country’s structure and attract the attention of the opposition, Tebon said that the first step in creating fundamental reforms in the country was to review the Algerian constitution and make the necessary changes.
