Mustafa Al-Kazemi on the way to the United States as a bearer of many issues.
An Arab media outlet reported on the Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s imminent visit to the United States and the issues he will discuss.
“Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi will travel to Washington in late July to meet with US President Joe Biden,” Sky News reported, citing Mustafa al-Kadhimi’s imminent visit to Washington. Opposition groups have stepped up their presence in Iraq.
A political source in the Iraqi prime minister told Sky News that al-Kadhimi had been invited by Washington to meet with Biden two weeks ago.
The source, who did not want to be named, said: “The itinerary is not clear yet, but completing the strategic dialogue and resolving the problems in Iraq will be at the top of the agenda.” In addition, issues such as the economic crisis, security cooperation and energy will be other topics discussed by Al-Kazemi with US officials.
Sky News wrote: “Observers believe that this trip is in order to complete the consultations between the United States and Iraq on the withdrawal of Iraqi troops from Iraq, as well as security cooperation between the two sides to fight ISIS, assess the situation in the region and internationally after work.” The arrival of “Joe Biden” in the United States and “Ebrahim Raisi” in Iran, as well as the way of dealing with an important case called the armed groups.
“The perception in the United States is that the resolution of the Iraq crisis should be internal, but Washington supports the Iraqi government but does not intervene directly,” Iraqi affairs analyst Aqeel Abbas told Sky News.
He added: “This trip includes another round of strategic talks, and the presence of American troops and their withdrawal schedule are important axes of the talks.” The United States supports al-Kazemi’s government, but has no clear plan to do so. The United States considers the Al-Kazemi government better for the United States than previous governments in Iraq.
