Al-Hashd al-Shabi Commander: ISIL has increased its attacks to provide reason for US presence.
Al-Hashd al-Shabi commander said the organization has carried out 12 security operations against ISIL terrorists in various Iraqi provinces in the past month.
Bashir al-Atabaki, commander of the 23rd Brigade of the Al-Hashd al-Shabi organization, said in an interview that the organization’s forces had carried out 12 clearing operations against ISIL terrorists in different provinces in the past month.
According to Baghdad Al-Youm, he said that the operations were carried out after monitoring the movements of ISIL elements and according to the information obtained. The al-Hashd al-Shabi commander stressed that the operation would continue until all of ISIL’s silent cells were destroyed.
Al-Hashd al-Shabi also announced today (Wednesday) the start of a security operation to clear the Yathrib area in Salah al-Din province of ISIL terrorists with the participation of security forces.
The statement said that the forces of the 41st Al-Hashd Al-Shabi Brigade and the Iraqi security forces will clear the areas of “Zour Al-Buhshamah” and “Al-Buhshamah” on the banks of the Tigris River in this operation. The two areas where terrorists and their terrorist activities are located in Salah al-Din province, according to intelligence reports.
At the same time in Basra province, the Al-Hashd al-Shabi command in this province, in a joint meeting with the army command in Basra, while reviewing the security situation in the province, emphasized on increasing coordination.
In another part of his speech, Bashir al-Atabaki said that ISIL terrorists have close ties with the Americans and have increased the number of their attacks with the aim of maintaining the presence of US combat forces.
Confirming these words, Hamid al-Hayes, the head of the Anbar Province Rescue Council in Iraq, also confirmed today that the terrorist operations of ISIL elements in four provinces have been activated in the current period, saying that these operations coincide with the imminent withdrawal of US combat troops from Iraq.
