Al-Aqsa Mosque Speaker: Israel has attacked 500 Palestinian shrines.
Sheikh “Ikrima Sabri”, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, said that the occupying regime has attacked 500 Palestinian cemeteries so far in the context of destroying the identity and historical heritage of Muslims, the most recent of which is the shrine of Al-Yusufiya in Jerusalem.
According to Al-Quds Al-Arabi, Sheikh Sabri made these remarks at a seminar of the Palestinian People’s Congress Abroad entitled “Demolition of monasteries and exhumation of graves. It is Israeli policy to Judaize and falsify history below and on the ground.”
Al-Aqsa Mosque spokesman said: “The occupying regime is currently attacking Yousefieh Cemetery next to Al-Aqsa Mosque to turn it into a Torah park, erase the relics of Muslims and scatter the bones of the dead.”
Sheikh Sabri emphasized: “Cemeteries prove our existence throughout history and are a document against the Israeli occupation.” What the occupiers are doing is openly attacking Muslim cemeteries, because there are the remains of the bodies of companions, scholars, leaders and officials throughout history.
He added: “Muslims are still buried in these cemeteries, but the occupiers are trying to destroy their characteristics.”
The spokesman of Al-Aqsa Mosque emphasized: If a Muslim attacked a Jewish grave, the world would rise up and not remain silent, but the Jews will desecrate our cemeteries.
Sheikh Sabri said: “The hearts of two billion Muslims are beating for the city of Jerusalem, a city that contains sanctuaries and is headed by Al-Aqsa Mosque and historical cemeteries.”
The news media reported that the Zionist regime is trying to dismantle the Muslim shrine east of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The report further states that the Zionist regime’s excavations in the northern part of the Yusufiya shrine have destroyed the graves of a number of Palestinian martyrs, and this has provoked the anger of the people of Jerusalem.
The purpose of demolishing the tombs is to build a Torah green space and stepped platforms overlooking the foothills of Jabal al-Zaytun (east of Jerusalem).
The Zionist militia has given the Palestinians just a few minutes to leave the Al-Yusufiya shrine and start digging.
