The ISIS terrorist group took responsibility for today’s terrorist attack in the Holy Shrine of Shahcheragh (PBUH).
The French news agency reported this news citing a statement from the terrorist group. Reuters news agency also wrote that it has taken responsibility for this incident by publishing a statement on its Telegram channel.
In a statement attributed to this group, ISIS has attacked a shrine in southern Iran. In the statement attributed to the ISIS group, it is stated that the attack on Shahcheragh is the first operation of this group in Iran after September 2018. ISIS said that at that time it had attacked a military parade in Ahvaz.
In the evening of this Wednesday, an armed person opened fire at the pilgrims while entering the holy shrine of Shahcheragh. So far, 15 martyrs and 19 wounded have been reported in this terrorist operation, and one woman and two children are among these victims.
The police commander of Fars province identified a person as the perpetrator of this terrorist act, who has been arrested. The Chief Justice of Fars Province also announced that the arrested person is under interrogation.
An informed source told Fars reporter: The perpetrator of this terrorist incident is Hamed Badakhshan, who is 23 years old. Some sources report that the perpetrator of this terrorist act is non-Iranian.
