Afghanistan Neighbors Preliminary Meeting in Dushanbe.
The preliminary meeting of the regional security dialogue on Afghanistan will be held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
The main meeting of secretaries, advisers and representatives of national security agencies of Tajikistan, Iran, Russia, China, India, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan will be held today to discuss developments in Afghanistan.
Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, will attend and address the meeting.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran will meet with a number of his counterparts from the participating countries and will discuss the situation in Afghanistan and the resulting threats to the countries of the region.
Regional and international developments will be among the other topics discussed at the meeting.
The regional security dialogue meeting was initiated by Iran more than four years ago and the first and second meetings were hosted by Tehran and the third meeting was hosted by New Delhi.
