A senior Taliban official has placed great importance on implementing the Hirmand agreement with Iran.
The Acting Prime Minister of the Taliban stressed the good and positive relations between Afghanistan and its neighbors, especially Iran, and spoke about the necessity of implementing the Hirmand agreement between Tehran and Kabul.
At the same time as the tension on the Iran-Afghanistan border, the Taliban officials emphasized on the continuation of cooperation and good relations with the neighbors, including Iran.
According to the press release, the Acting Prime Minister of the Taliban met Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour, the Minister of Water and Energy of the Taliban and discussed Iran’s Islamic sovereignty.
In this meeting, a detailed discussion was held regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran’s rights and all its aspects were evaluated in detail and carefully.
In this meeting, considering the legal aspects, emphasis was placed on the agreement signed between Kabul and Tehran in 1351 AH and it was considered appropriate to comply with this agreement to solve this problem.

Previously, some Iranian officials, including the president of this country, had demanded the realization of the country’s right to water from the Helmand River.
