A new wave of protests is on its way.
The daily newspaper “Lofigaro” reported that nearly 600,000 people are expected to come to the streets in demonstrations against the reform of the pension law in France on Tuesday (June 6).
According to the report of this newspaper, the French authorities are worried about the occurrence of violent incidents and clashes among the protestors across the country, so 250 demonstrations are scheduled to be held across France.
Lofigaro’s report states that nearly 70,000 people may participate in the protests that are to be held in Paris, the capital of France.
It is said that the route of this demonstration is towards the Italian Square and the “Rotund” restaurant, where French President Emmanuel Macron celebrated his victory in the 2017 elections, is located on this route. During previous protests, French people set fire to the awnings of this restaurant.
The French police have announced that the path of this demonstration makes it seem difficult to control. This is the 14th demonstration in France against the law increasing the retirement age since its amendment.
French protests are generally against the clause related to raising the retirement age from 62 to 64 years. The “Connexion France” website also wrote that it is expected that different sectors of France, including the air and rail transport sector, teachers, and civil servants, will participate in the new wave of French strikes on Tuesday of this week.
