A comprehensive conference of Palestinian groups is being held in Algeria.
The Algerian president said that a comprehensive conference of Palestinian groups would be held before the summit, which would take a serious look at Arab positions on the Palestinian issue.
The head of the PA, Mahmoud Abbas, met with Algerian President Abdel Majid Taboun and stressed that the Palestinian issue was facing unprecedented challenges.
According to Al-Mayadin, Mahmoud Abbas, who met with Tebon at the Algerian capital’s presidential residence on Monday, briefed him on the aggression of the occupying Zionist regime and the latest political developments.
Abbas stated: “The Palestinian cause, considering the incompatibility of the Israeli cabinet and the Prime Minister’s disbelief in the solution of the two countries and his efforts to expand settlements and continue the occupation, economic pressure and theft of Palestinian lands and its natural and financial resources, the Palestinian issue.” It has faced unprecedented challenges.
“We know what we are saying,” he said. We will never accept the policy of systematic killing, torture of prisoners and confiscation of the bodies of the martyrs and the siege of Gaza.
The meeting also discussed ways to strengthen the relations and ties of historical friendship between the two nations and the two leaders, and some of the international and regional issues of concern to both sides.
The Palestinian and Algerian leaders discussed ways to coordinate common positions in preparation for the upcoming Arab summit in Algeria next March, and Abbas expressed confidence that the Palestinian issue would be key at the summit.
