A Centcom spokesman said a drone had struck the US base at Al-Tanf.
A Centcom spokesman confirmed that two drones had entered the airspace of the US base at Al-Tanf in eastern Syria this week, and that one of them had been shot down.
Bill Urban, a spokesman for the Centcom terrorist organization, said the U.S. military shot down a drone that entered Al-Tanf base on Tuesday.
He told ANBI News that another drone had entered the Al-Tanf area but left, and it was unclear whether the two drones were carrying explosives.
A spokesman for Centcom claimed that no damage had been reported as a result of the drone strike.
This week, the official Syrian news agency reported the sound of heavy explosions at the US base in Al-Tanf.
The drone strike comes just weeks after another coordinated attack on al-Tanf base. The attack was carried out a few weeks ago using drones and rockets, but the United States has claimed that none of its forces were injured or killed.
Also this week, local sources reported the sound of four explosions at an illegal US base at the Omar oil field in eastern Deir ez-Zor province.
