70 countries have issued an statement against depriving Afghan girls of schools.
More than 70 countries of the world and the European Union jointly emphasized in a statement that denying girls from entering schools and universities, as well as banning women from working, cannot be defended.
They reminded this joint statement of the resolution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the meeting of January 2023 that Islam is not against women’s education, work and participation in public life.
These countries also stated that restrictions against women in Afghanistan increase gender-based violence and child marriage, and weaken the country’s economic stability, as well as destroy social development, inclusive government, and the realization of human and minority rights.
The European Union and the countries of the world declared the ban against women and girls irreparable damage to the economy and society of Afghanistan.
