40 protesters arrested for protesting against the Turkish government in Istanbul.
Istanbul police arrested more than 40 people using force against protesters against the economic policies of Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government.
Fars News Agency: While the Turkish government has not yet given a clear answer to its people about the reason for the steady fall in the value of the country’s currency and its strategies to deal with it, Turkish security forces are detaining protesters against inflation.
Turkish media reported on Wednesday evening that Istanbul police had arrested more than 40 people using force against protesters against the economic policies of Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government.
Turkish security forces also cordoned off a square in Istanbul where a protest rally was planned, urging protesters to disperse and announcing a one-month ban on protests in the city.
Earlier, thousands of workers in Izmir province took to the streets in protest of high prices and high inflation in Turkey, demanding a balance between pay and taxes.
