24 children killed in shooting and knife attack in Thailand.
At least 36 people, including 24 children, have been killed in a stabbing and shooting attack at a kindergarten in a province in northeastern Thailand, news sources have reported.
This happened in Nong Bua Lamphu province in northeastern Thailand. The assailant fled the scene, returned home and killed himself, his wife, and his child. The media reported that the assailant was a former police officer, but his motives for the attack are still unclear.
A spokesman for Nong Boa Lamphu province told The Associated Press that two teachers and a police officer were among the victims. Although gun ownership in Thailand is high compared to other countries in the Asian region, blind shootings are rare in this country.
Videos published online show children drowned in blood. The police said that the assailant was armed with a knife, a Colt and a shotgun. The assailant was fired from the police last year.
The last mass shooting in Thailand happened in 2020; when a soldier killed at least 29 people and injured 57 people
