20 Ukrainian drones downed over Crimea: Russia.
According to RT, the Ministry of Defense of Russia announced in a statement that it has repelled the terrorist attack of the Kyiv regime with 20 drones to target the infrastructure of the Crimean Peninsula.
According to this statement, 14 Ukrainian drones were destroyed using defense systems, and 6 other drones were intercepted and shot down over the sky of Crimea through electronic warfare.
This drone attack did not cause damage and no one was injured or killed.
The Crimean peninsula was annexed to the territory of Russia by holding a referendum in 2014, and since the beginning of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, it has been the target of attacks by the Ukrainian army, but these attacks have intensified in recent weeks.
Last week, the authorities of the Crimean peninsula learned about an explosion on the Crimean bridge, as a result of which two people were killed and another person was injured. The Crimean Bridge connects the Crimean peninsula, which was annexed to Russian territory in 2014 by holding a referendum, to Russia; Last fall, the Ukrainian army blew up this bridge.
During the coup of February 2014, Viktor Yanukovych, the president of Ukraine, was removed from his position, and after that, a wave of mass protests began in Crimea and eastern Ukraine. On March 11 of the same year, the Supreme Council of Crimea and the City Council of Sevastopol approved the declaration of independence of these regions.
After that, on March 15, 2014, a referendum was held in the Crimean peninsula, and the issue of reunification with Russia was put to the vote, and the majority of voters declared their agreement on this issue.
