18 years have passed since the death of Yasser Arafat, the former head of the Palestinian Authority; Now, after nearly two decades, the Palestinian resistance policy has made many changes and transformed the equations according to its capabilities. In the following, we will discuss the process of these changes in Palestinian politics and the transformation of the rules of activism between Gaza and Tel Aviv from the beginning to the end.
The beginning of Arafat’s politics in the establishment
Arafat’s political activity began with his election in 1952 as the head of the Palestinian Students Union in Cairo, the capital of Egypt; Then, with some of his companions, he founded the Palestinian National Liberation Movement named “Fath” in October 1959. This movement officially announced its existence in early January 1965, one day after the first armed operation; when its members blew up a tunnel inside the occupied territories and injured two Israeli soldiers. After this, Arafat continued his activities in Jordan and Lebanon in the fight against the Zionist regime. In 1982, the Israeli army attacked Lebanon in an operation aimed at destroying the Palestinian resistance, and forced the Palestinian forces led by Arafat to leave Beirut for Tunisia and other Arab countries.
