Opponents of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have stepped up their efforts to form a coalition against him.
Israeli media reported that the regime’s Minister of War Bani Gantz met with Yair Lapid, the leader of Netanyahu’s opposition party in the occupied territories.
Yedioth Ahronoth reports that Bani Gantz met again tonight with Yair Atid party leader in the Occupied Territories, Yair Lapid is trying to form a united cabinet and end Netanyahu’s career as a prime minister.
Given that Netanyahu failed to form a new cabinet in the occupied territories in the previous three rounds of elections, the regime’s fourth election was held in less than two years, but Netanyahu’s party still failed to win the required number of votes.
However, Israeli President Rovin Rivlin re-appointed him, claiming that he did not consider anyone more suitable than Netanyahu to form a cabinet in the current situation.
Benjamin Netanyahu, more than a week after his deadline, has not yet been able to form the coalition needed to form a cabinet.
