French police clash with protesters over Corona restrictions.
The French police were involved in the clashes with protesters who had been protesting for compulsory health passport to enter public places in the midst of the fourth wave of Coronavirus.
Thousands protested in France on Saturday against the legal measures taken by Emmanuel Macron’s government to force the issuance of health passports when entering public places amid the outbreak of the fourth wave of Covid-19 in the country.
The Associated Press reports that nearly 3,000 security forces were deployed around Paris on Saturday to protest the third week of new French government measures to control Corona.
According to the news agency, most of the demonstrations in Paris were peaceful, but in some of them, clashes were reported between the riot police and the people, and the police clashed with the protesters.
“We are building a dispersed society and it is unbelievable to me that we are doing this in the cradle of human rights,” a protester named Anne, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Reuters.
“That’s why I came to the streets,” he said. I have not taken part in any demonstrations before. “I think our freedom is in danger.”
Emmanuel Macron announced a few weeks ago that in the future it will only be possible to enter many public places, such as cinemas or restaurants, by presenting corona-free certificates. French citizens can receive a health certificate seven days after the second dose of the Corona vaccine or two days after a negative corona test.
The French government has introduced this plan in view of the increasing incidence of coronary heart disease and hospitalization of patients. From August 9 onwards, entry to public places without these certificates will be prohibited.
Polls show that the majority of French people agree with the plan, but some French citizens also see it as opposed to civil liberties.
Hager Amor, a 37-year-old nurse, told the Associated Press that he had resigned. “I don’t think anyone needs to tell us what to do,” he said.
He added that the medical staff was mistreated during the first wave of the disease: “Now we are once told that if we do not get vaccinated, it is the people’s fault that the disease is transmitted. “It’s very disgusting.”
