Behind the scenes, delay in the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.
Abbas al-Ardawi, a prominent Iraqi political analyst, told Al-Maluma website about the reasons for the delay in the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.
He stressed that the United States has delayed the withdrawal of troops from Iraq as parliamentary elections approach.
Al-Ardawi also warned that the United States wants to intervene in the Iraqi elections as in 2018. The stay of American troops in Iraq is a dangerous sign of Washington’s interference in the election results; Because he wants to play a role in it.
The Iraqi expert added that the withdrawal of American troops and the implementation of the Iraqi parliament’s resolution in this regard is a necessity before the parliamentary elections; Because otherwise we will inevitably see election fraud.
A few days ago, Nadi Shakir Judet, a member of the Iraqi parliament, warned about the involvement of the US embassy in the October 10 elections this year.
He added: “Iraqi elections differ from other countries in terms of their importance and impact at the regional level.” Foreign embassies are paying close attention to this election, and the US Embassy is paying more attention to this election than any other embassy.
The Iraqi parliamentarian stressed that in order for the elections to be transparent and fair, the government and the High Electoral Commission must monitor any movement by the US embassy and other foreign embassies.
Two days after the martyrdom of General Qassem Soleimani, the former commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, the former deputy head of the Iraqi Al-Hashd al-Shabi organization at Baghdad airport at the hands of American terrorists, the Iraqi parliament approved a plan to withdraw US troops. During this time, the parties have held several rounds of talks to address this issue and to find a mechanism.
The last and fourth rounds of strategic talks between Iraq and the United States, chaired by Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, were held in Washington on July 23, 2021, during which US combat troops were scheduled to leave Iraq by the end of 2021.
