Arabic website: 2022 will be the year of increasing tensions between Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
An Arab analytical website wrote that Saudi Arabia and the UAE will move towards more tensions this year.
In a report on relations between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in 2022, the analytical website Al Khaleej Research and Publication Center wrote that the two countries are likely to move further into conflict this year, albeit covertly.
According to the report, the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf have adopted a political and economic strategy based on competition with each other, and especially the governments of Riyadh and Abu Dhabi in 2022 plan to secure foreign policy benefits and increase economic power with rising oil prices. And increase the financial strength of the two countries.
According to the report, the UAE has engaged in pre-emptive diplomacy over the past four months compared to other Gulf states. In this regard, “Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed” went to Turkey on November 24, 2021 and met with Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Earlier, Tahnoon bin Zayed, the UAE national security adviser, had traveled to Qatar. He also went to Tehran on December 6, and all these efforts are being made to reduce tensions in order to prepare for the future situation in the region.
Regarding the differences between the members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, it should be said that these countries are still in a state of tension after the agreement reached in Saudi Arabia and the formal end of the crisis in relations with Qatar. In this regard, the improvement of Qatar’s relations with the UAE is slow and no steps have been taken with Bahrain yet, but Doha and Riyadh have shown good progress in this regard.
The Saudi-Lexus website also reported that economic, political and regional rivalries between Saudi Arabia and the UAE have intensified. The website quoted sources in the Royal Court as saying that Riyadh and Abu Dhabi have secret talks to resolve their differences, but these talks have not only failed, but the atmosphere is still tense.
