Zoom teleconferencing software has introduced a number of new features for users, including a translation and transcription feature for zoom calls. After which it can be translated into the mother tongue for each person involved in the call.
According to international media, the video chat app Zoom has introduced several new features, these new features were announced on the occasion of the annual Zoom Hat Conference which aims to facilitate millions of users in the hybrid work model. Includes translation and transcription for zoom calls.
For this purpose, Machine Learning and Nature Language Processing will be used in Zoom so that the language spoken in the call can be transcribed in real time, after which it can be translated into the mother tongue for each person involved in the call. The feature will be available in beta version in September and will be available to all users by the end of 2021, officials said on the occasion.
The list of languages for this feature has not been finalized, but by the end of 2022, the company will offer 30 language options for transcription and 12 language options for translation. This allows office workers at home and in the office to stay in touch with each other. According to the company, users will be able to write on a digital whiteboard from a desktop or tablet.
Zoom Rooms Smart Gallery is also a new feature in which multiple camera feeds can be used for office meetings. The company is also adding zoom widgets. Some of these new features like Smart Gallery Zoom will be available to the users for free but others like translation service will have to pay extra fee, but how much this fee will be has not been announced yet.
