Sydney:
Scientists at Australia’s National Science Agency (CSIRO) have conducted significant research on the corona virus and found that the coronavirus that causes corona disease in an environment with temperatures up to 20 degrees Celsius Can survive up to 28 days on smooth surfaces such as currency notes and mobile phone screen glass.
The study, published in the journal Virology, found that the influenza A virus survived only 17 days on similar smooth surfaces compared to the coronavirus. Research adds to the importance of hand washing and, where possible, sanitizing the area and cleaning out surfaces that come in contact with the virus.
According to the researchers, the corona virus can survive for a short time at rough or uneven surfaces at low temperatures. Research has shown that the virus cannot survive on rough surfaces such as clothes after 14 days. Experiments have shown that the corona virus can survive for two or three days on currency notes and glass, while it can survive for up to six days on plastic and stainless steel surfaces.
Professor Ron Axel, a former director of Cardiff University’s Common Cold Center, criticized the study, saying the virus could live up to 28 days, creating unnecessary fear.
According to Dr. Axel, the virus is spread by tiny particles and dirty hands due to coughing or sneezing, but this study did not use fresh human mucus as the cause of the spread of the virus. There are white cells that make enzymes to kill the virus, and mucus can contain antibodies and chemicals to fight the virus.
