Consumers across Pakistan have been having difficulty accessing internet services since the past. This problem is due to a malfunction in the international underwater cable system AAE-1, which provides internet services in Pakistan. How long will it take to recover?
According to a report by ProPakistani, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), in collaboration with an international submarine consortium, is working to restore the Internet situation in the country. Difficulty accessing services.
A spokesman for PTCL said in a statement, “We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to our customers and will notify them as soon as the services are fully restored.” How long will they be restored? According to the report, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has also informed about this matter.
According to the PTA, in view of the malfunction in one of the international cables connecting Pakistan to the world through internet, alternative arrangements have been made by the concerned service providers through additional bandwidth to provide uninterrupted internet services to the customers. ۔
According to the authority, work is underway to fix the fault in the underwater cables but it may take some time. Internet service providers are alerting consumers to the current problem and as long as the fault persists. Consumers across the country are likely to experience slow internet speeds.
Officials have no ETA on the restoration of the submarine cable and it could take literally days, possibly weeks, before it is fully restored. The number of cables is 6, two mentioned above while the other four include TW1, SEMEWE3, SEMEWE5 and AAE1.
Of these, the SEMEWE3 operates in a limited capacity, while the other two were installed only a few years ago. Users had difficulty accessing Internet services.
Earlier, in October 2019, online services were affected due to a breakdown in two international underwater cables providing internet in Pakistan. She was affected for about 2 days.’
