The social networking site Instagram has introduced some new features for the protection of children which are aimed at providing safe digital space to children, which was announced in a press release yesterday.
Facebook, the company that owns Instagram, has announced three new features in a press release yesterday. As such, it will be private, meaning that posts made on this account will be viewable only by other minors.
The second feature will be more stringent in monitoring suspicious Instagram accounts and will also prevent them from sending direct messages or DMs to minors. The third feature will also be for advertising agencies Options will be limited so that children using Instagram will only receive ads that are appropriate for their age.
In another post linked to the announcement, Pauni Dewanji, Facebook’s vice president of youth products, said artificial intelligence would be used to determine the exact age of the account holder.
