US multinational technology company Apple has once again managed to become the world’s second largest smartphone company, pushing Xiaomi down, while Samsung sold most smartphones in the world.
According to an international website, Samsung remained the world’s largest smartphone seller in the third quarter of 2021. According to Canalys, a company that analyzes smartphone sales, Samsung also maintained its lead, with a market share of 23% during this period. But in this quarter, Apple regained the second position and pushed Xiaomi down.
Apple’s share of the smartphone market was 15 percent from July to September, up 3 percent from the same quarter last year. Xiaomi came in third, but fell just one percent to 14 percent. Vivo and Oppo ranked fourth and 5th with a market share of 10% respectively.
Global smartphone sales fell 6% in the third quarter of 2021 compared to the same period last year, due to a global shortage of chips and what experts believe is one of the ways to overcome the crisis. It may take years.
