A Pakistan Army spokesman said that the Pakistan Army has added modern VT4 tanks to its fleet. The VT4 can compete with any modern tank in the world with integrated security, contains state-of-the-art combat capability and technology.
According to a statement issued by Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR), Corps Commander Mangla Lieutenant General Shaheen Mazhar Mahmood visited the Armored Division and inspected the first consignment of VT4 tanks. Major General Rashid Mahmood inspected the tanks. Briefed the Corps Commander regarding the inspection of the first consignment.
Lt. Gen. Shaheen Mazhar Mahmood inspected the mobility and aptitude tests of the tanks and praised the efforts made to make them easier to join the fleet. The ‘V’ manufactured by Norinco, China’s state-owned armored vehicle manufacturer. Delivery of T4 tanks began in April last year.
After joining the Armored Corps in September last year, the Pakistan Army had demonstrated the tank at the Tila Field Firing Range near Jhelum. The demonstration was inspected by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
