President Dr. Arif Alvi signed the Islamabad Senior Citizen Bill 2021 and the Enforcement of Property Rights (Amendment) Bill 2021. Under the Women’s Bill, their property rights will be ensured while they are not harassed, coerced or deceived. Yogurt will be avoided. Under the Islamabad Senior Citizens Bill 2021, steps will be taken for the welfare of senior citizens of Islamabad.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency, Section 5 of the Enforcement of Feminist Act, 2020 has been amended. She can apply to the ombudsman if her property rights or property are not being seized and no case is pending in the court regarding the property concerned.
After the initial review of the application, the Ombudsman will call for a report from the concerned Deputy Commissioner within 15 days and after reviewing the record will pronounce the decision.
The bill states that “the ombudsman will also seek objections from the complainant and his opponents and will be authorized to complete the hearing within 60 days.”
Enforcement of the Feminist Property Rights (Amendment) Bill 2021 is a step in the right direction as it provides for a timeline for resolving women’s property disputes.
It is observed that Article 23 of the Constitution recognizes the property rights of all citizens but women face obstacles in exercising this right.
Under the Islamabad Senior Citizens Bill 2021, the establishment of Senior Citizens Council and Darul Shafqat (Old Age Home) for the elderly will also be implemented.
People over the age of 60 will be eligible for the Senior Citizen Card. Senior citizens will have access to facilities such as museums, parks and libraries free of charge. Will
