The power crisis has become serious across the country and the current shortfall has reached 5000 MW while unannounced load shedding continues for 8 hours across the country due to which the people have gone on strike. The power crisis in the country has taken a serious turn and the total shortfall has reached 5000 MW while unannounced load shedding is taking place in several areas.
According to the Power Division, the total power generation in the country at present is 19,000 MW and the demand is 24,000 MW and load shedding is going on for 8 hours across the country. The system of power distribution companies is overloaded, 80% of transformers are overloaded which is causing feeders to trip.
On the other hand, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Energy said that due to low water emission, Tarbela and Mangla are currently generating 3300 MW less electricity, the country’s total electricity demand is 24100 MW while the production in the system is 22600 MW. Instructions were issued to improve the system.
According to the spokesperson, power generation will increase in the coming days and we temporarily apologize to power consumers for load management and request them to moderate power consumption.
It is to be noted that unannounced load shedding has been going on for about 8 hours in various parts of the country.
