Reacting to the killing of a Pakistani-origin family in Canada, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi termed the incident as terrorism and said that Islamophobia was on the rise in the West, adding that it was the fault of five Pakistanis killed in Canada to be Muslims. I think this is a terrorist incident.
According to the details, the Foreign Minister said in a statement regarding the tragic incident with a family of Pakistani origin in Canada that according to the police investigation, there is an element of Islamophobia in the incident. In my opinion, this is an incident of terrorism. The post-mortem report is still awaited. He was a physiotherapist, an educated man and belonged to Lahore in Pakistan.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi further said that the Canadian High Commission has been invited to the Foreign Office on the incident. The Canadian Prime Minister will say that this is a test of his society, to play his role in ensuring the safety of Muslims living in Canada.
He said that five innocent Pakistani Canadians were crushed, the sin of those who died is to be Muslims, if the trend is not stopped then sinful people will continue to be targeted, until the full report comes out, nothing can be said definitively. ۔
He said that Islamophobia is on the rise in the West which needs to be remedied. Pakistan is pointing out the rising trend of Islamophobia all over the world. He said that the family is suffering due to this tragic tragedy. The victim’s family has informed about the burial there.
The Foreign Minister further said that Pakistanis living in Canada should express solidarity with the bereaved family, if they are allowed to attend the funeral prayers, they should attend the funeral prayers otherwise they should offer the funeral prayers in absentia.
