The death toll in a train accident near Daharki in Sindh’s Ghotki district has risen to 65, while the condition of several of the more than 100 injured remains critical, leading to fears of an increase in deaths. SP Omar Tufail said that more bodies have been recovered from the bogie stuck under the engine.
On the other hand, according to Muhammad Urs Magsi and Gul Mehr, in-charge of Edhi Center Sukkur, 14 more bodies were exhumed from the wreckage of the train last night, bringing the death toll to 62.

According to the report of Dawn newspaper, the spokesperson of Pakistan Railways said that under the policy of the department, Rs 1.5 million would be given to the relatives of each person killed in the accident while Rs 50,000 to Rs 300,000 would be given to the injured.
On the other hand, DS Sukkur Tariq Latif said that the relief operation has been completed at the site of the train accident. Is.
DS Sukkur said that after a 29-hour standstill, the traffic on the railway track has been restored but the speed of trains on the affected track has been kept low at present.
According to railway officials, trains are currently passing through the uphill track at a speed of 10 km per hour while the downhill track will also be restored in one to two hours.
Departure of 10 trains from Karachi canceled
Railway officials have canceled the departure of the following trains from Karachi Cantt to Lahore and Rawalpindi this afternoon and evening.
The canceled trains include Allama Iqbal Express, Pakistan Express, Jinnah Express, Karakoram Express, Pak Business Express, Millat Express, Karachi Express, Tezgam, Zakaria Express and Sir Syed Express.
According to railway officials, the cancellation has been made on technical grounds only for today. Passengers with confirmed tickets will be paid 100% of the amount which can be obtained from the Passenger Reservation Office.

According to Deputy Superintendent Railway Sukkur Tariq Latif, more than 13 bogies were damaged in the accident, including 9 bogies of Millat Express and 4 bogies of Sir Syed Express.
As a result of the accident, 62 people were killed and more than 100 were injured. Federal Minister for Railways Azam Swati had claimed responsibility for the incident.
“This track is stuck in our throats like a bone that we cannot swallow or vomit. I acknowledge that the safety of passengers on this track is at stake,” he admitted.
