The Sindh High Court has taken an important decision to set up forensic labs in every district of the country to investigate cyber crime and asked the provincial and federal governments to take immediate steps for forensic labs. There are only 2 forensic labs in the country.
According to the details, the bail application of the DG Tanks accused in cyber crime was heard in the Sindh High Court. During the hearing, Justice Salahuddin Panhwar asked what was the extent of the investigation. On which the FIA investigating officer said that forensics could not be completed in the cases, there are only 2 labs related to forensics in the country, only forensic lab facility is available in Islamabad and Karachi.
The court said that even in a country like Afghanistan, there are 19 forensic labs, there are 3 universities for forensics in Bangladesh, cyber crime, rape, murder, all of them have only 2 forensics for forensics? It’s been 6 months, the accused are inside, the investigation could not be completed.
The court directed the trial court to complete the trial in six months and directed the FIA to complete its probe into the cyber crime as soon as possible. The Sindh High Court ordered setting up of forensic labs in every district of the country and asked the provincial and federal governments to take immediate steps for forensic labs.
