Polio campaign launched in Sindh and Punjab by Sindh Chief Minister and Health Minister . No child has contracted polio in Sindh and Punjab this year, authorities have asked parents to vaccinate their children.
According to details, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Health Minister Dr Azra inaugurated the campaign in Karachi by vaccinating children against polio. The Emergency Operations Center for Polio Sindh conducted polio vaccinations across Sindh from June 7 to 13. The campaign will run.
During this campaign, more than 9 million children in 30 districts of Sindh will be vaccinated against polio. Out of 9 million children, more than 2 million children live in Karachi. Due to the virus, polio campaigns could not be conducted from March 2020 to August 2012, which reduced the immunity of children.
Since August 2020, a polio campaign has been launched almost every month and a half, which has resulted in a reduction in polio cases and a reduction in the number of polio viruses in sewer water. Polio drops can help children get rid of polio
In 2021, a polio case has been reported in Pakistan which belongs to Balochistan. Parents are requested to go ahead and give polio drops to their children and cooperate with the teams coming home.
In the year 2020, 84 polio cases were reported across the country while in 2019 the number of polio cases was 147. Similarly, in Sindh alone, 22 polio cases were reported in 2020 while in 2019 the number of polio cases was 30 and this year no polio cases have been reported. The case was not reported.
On the other hand, anti-polio campaign has been launched in 20 districts of Punjab from today. The five-day campaign will continue till June 11. 33,000 teams have been formed for conducting the campaign. Training phase of polio teams regarding the campaign Has been completed and masks and sanitizers have been provided to the districts for protection from Corona. More than 141.82 million children will be vaccinated against polio in the campaign.
Districts include Attock, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Jhang, Kasur, Lahore, Layyah, Lodhran, Mianwali, Multan, Muzaffargarh, Nankana Sahib, Okara, Rajanpur, Rawalpindi, Rahim Yar Khan, Sheikhupura, Sialkot. The Punjab Polio Program says that traveling communities are facing dangers. Parents should continue to cooperate with polio teams. In the year 2020, 14 cases of polio were reported in Punjab while no child has contracted polio in the province this year.
