Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) resumes air safari flight from Islamabad after 14 years to promote tourism PIA’s first air safari flight carrying 91 tourists from 13 countries arrived at Islamabad International Airport on Saturday. Left for Skardu.
Before landing in Skardu, the air safari flight will fly from Pakistan’s highest peak K-2 to Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak Glacier and then back to Islamabad.
A PIA spokesman said that foreign tourists were excited to see the beautiful mountain range of Pakistan. He said that air safari was popular among tourists and it would help in the promotion of tourism in Pakistan.
PIA will operate an air safari flight from Islamabad to Skardu once a week. During the flight, tourists will see 13 destinations and its one-way fare will be Rs 25,000. He will later return to Islamabad.
PIA had recently started its flight to Saidu Sharif while PIA flights from Lahore to Skardu have also been started.
Earlier, the PIA had announced the cancellation of its inaugural safari flight for a week due to bad weather conditions in the northern regions. The first air safari flight was scheduled to depart on June 12, which took place on June 19. The IA said it was important for the weather to improve in order to see the world’s highest peaks.
