Federal Minister for Planning and Head of National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) Asad Umar has said that we have succeeded in vaccinating 10 million people against Corona virus in the country. Addressing a function at the NCOC, he said that more than 7 million people have been vaccinated.
He said the government’s target is to vaccinate 70 million people by the end of this year, December 2021, which requires a lot of hard work.
Asad Omar said that the good thing is that a large number of people are registering for vaccination every day and we receive 3.5 to 3.5 million registrations daily.
He said that more than 300,000 people were given the first dose of corona vaccine yesterday while the number of those who got the second dose was different.
“We need to go far beyond that number, so we appeal to everyone that the faster the vaccination campaign goes, the faster we can reduce the barriers,” he said.
The Federal Minister said that there are still some people, there are some sectors where the employment of the people is affected, which we have to open and also to protect the people from the effects on health.
Continuing, Asad Omar said that the measures taken during the third wave of corona virus had an effect and the spread of the epidemic had steadily decreased since Eid, but still in Pakistani hospitals. More than 3,000 critically ill patients are on oxygen care, so the risk is not over.
“The sooner vaccines are available, the sooner we will be protected from this menace,” he said, urging Pakistanis to step up and take part in the vaccination drive.
He said that when the people of Pakistan as a nation decide to do something, no one in the world can do it better than them, just like the people worked hard during the Corona epidemic.
“Vaccination should be carried out in the spirit that we have to complete this process faster and better than other countries in the region so that the wheel of the economy can move forward, people can find jobs and their health can be protected,” he added.
