According to the details, inflation has risen to 15.29 per cent on an annual basis after the budget. During the last one week, potatoes, tomatoes, flour, eggs, garlic, onions, fresh milk, mutton, beef, vegetable ghee, LPG gas prices of a total of 21 essential commodities including basmati broken rice, soap, mustard oil, tea leaves, flour and chicken went up whereas sugar & different types of lentils became cheaper and 23 essential commodity items prices remain stable.
On a weekly basis, tomato prices rose by 14.56 per cent, PG by 8.64 per cent, chicken by 11.43 per cent, onions by 8.38 per cent, potatoes by 1.21 per cent, garlic by 6.97 per cent, ghee by 5.36 per cent and cooking oil by 1.31 per cent and pulses by 1.31 per cent. Peanuts fell by 3.79 per cent, lentils by 0.26 per cent, lentils by 0.71 per cent, lentils by 0.45 per cent and sugar by 0.12 per cent.
According to data released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) for the week ended June 24, inflation in the country stood at 15.29 per cent in terms of Sensitive Price Index (SPI) as compared to the same period last year. As a result, inflation rose 0.82 percent during the week under review.
On the other hand, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry has said in a statement that Imran Khan fulfilled all the promises he made before the elections in 3 years, we have eliminated unemployment, reduced inflation, started historic projects, police and Patori politics. Completely abolished and started the canal project which has been hanging for 100 years, now there is no justification for criticism.
