National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser said that no minister was seen in the video and decided to take action against those who were seen. Try to bring the opposition and the government to the table, the parties should take care of the sanctity of the parliament.
Addressing a press conference at the Parliament House, Asad Qaiser said that everyone has the right to disagree but the incidents that took place in the National Assembly are unfortunate. These incidents are not a good omen for democracy. Let the meeting go accordingly, try to bring the opposition and the government to the table, let the parties take care of the sanctity of Parliament.
The Speaker of the National Assembly said that the action taken against the members of the National Assembly over the emergency was also objected to. I give equal opportunity in the House so I give everyone a chance to speak.
Asad Qaiser further said that yesterday I met Prime Minister Imran Khan after which I also talked to Shahbaz Sharif and Bilawal. I am still in touch with the opposition leaders. The House has given me the mandate to run the House and I will continue to do my job as per my mandate while my resignation is the wish of the opposition.
The Speaker said that the government should show maximum responsibility, I ask the government and the opposition to speak politely and the members of the National Assembly should not violate the sanctity of Parliament.
On this occasion, the journalist asked Asad Qaiser why he did not take action against the ministers. On this, the Speaker of the National Assembly said that action was taken against those who were seen in the footage, I did not see any minister rioting in the footage.
