Lahore:
Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz has received great relief from the court. According to media reports, the Lahore High Court heard the petition of Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz to cancel the notification of victory in which Chief Justice Lahore High Court Muhammad Amir Bhatti immediately suspended the notification of success of Punjab Chief Minister. Rejecting the request, he directed to merge it with other similar requests on May 25.
Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Muhammad Amir Bhatti while hearing the petition of citizen Munira Ahmed said that the affected parties have already filed such petition while the members of assembly have also filed petition on this issue. Lawyer Azhar Siddique replied that the petition of Mushtaq Mohal has also been declared admissible, to which the court said that it is no longer the case that the whole of Punjab should be allowed to file petitions on the same issue.
During the hearing Assistant Advocate General Barrister Tayyab Jan’s attempt to speak angered Advocate Zahir Siddique and asked the public prosecutor to speak to the court. Chief Justice Muhammad Amir Bhatti asked counsel for the petitioner to speak to the court. Let me tell you a story of literature today. Whenever that happens, bring it to the notice of the court. The Chief Justice also lashed out at the public prosecutor and said that you are still a junior and you should respect your elder anyway.
Advocate Azhar Siddique said that the Chief Minister has also transferred the appointments and give notice to them. The court said that all the political parties should be removed. The lawyer replied that there was no cabinet in Punjab but transfers were being made. The Chief Justice of Lahore High Court remarked that you should state at a later date who the provincial government is. Advocate Azhar Siddique said that the court should issue notice on this application. The Chief Justice of Lahore High Court also remarked that today I would like to tell you another piece of knowledge. When a court approves a petition for hearing, it means notice.
