Balochistan:
The ongoing protest in the Balochistan Assembly against the opposition for not allocating funds for their constituencies in the budget has entered its fourth day while the provincial assembly has been locked before the budget and the budget session has been delayed.
The protest camp of the opposition parties in the Balochistan Assembly has been going on for the last four days and they are demanding that funds be given to their constituencies.
Members of opposition parties have now locked the gates of the assembly from outside and set up barricades before presenting the budget in the provincial assembly.
It may be recalled that the united opposition in the Balochistan Assembly includes members of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, BNP (Mengal), Pashtunkhwa Map and Independents Opposition members blocked all national highways in the province yesterday in protest.
The budget was to be presented by the Balochistan Awami Party in the Balochistan Assembly at 4 pm today but could not start due to opposition protests.
Opposition members are present inside and outside the assembly and are constantly protesting and locking all the gates of the assembly while the administration reached to open the locks but failed to open the locks.
Talks are underway between Assistant Commissioner Quetta Aurangzeb Badini and Opposition Leader Sikandar Advocate.
Balochistan government spokesman Liaquat Shahwani on the opposition’s protest said that no constituency was ignored in the budget, several projects have been launched in opposition constituencies, including the expansion of Sariab Road.
He said that Sariab Road is not the constituency of any government member but in spite of this a project worth billions of rupees has been started and Sariab Road will be expanded.
